1) Here is a sample configuration to send the traffic to the SSM-20 module from the ASA:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6120/products_configuration_example09186a00807335ca.shtml

2) The sensor is already created, you would need to assign it to enable it and assign it to interface gig0/1 within the module.

3) If you purchase the IPS subscription license, then you can set the module to automatically update the signature from cisco.com.

4) Yes, the IPS module GUI is pretty self explainatory. Please setup the HTTPS GUI access first. From the ASA, you can session into the module, and run the "setup" command to setup the IPS module management ip address. Then you would need to connect the port on the IPS module to your network. This is the management port and is used to manage the module. You can point your browser directly to the IPS management ip address that you setup to access the IPS GUI.

Here is the step to initialise the IPS module:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/ips/7.0/configuration/guide/cli/cli_initializing.html

Hope this helps.
