Anyone ever seen this module used in an ASA other than a 5550 ? can or can't the module be used in different chassis?
Thanks

It can be used in the ASA 5510 with Security Plus License, the ASA5520 and the ASA 5540. From the ASA datasheet
Cisco ASA 5500 Series 4-Port Gigabit Ethernet Module

Wow just got some good info from Cisco on this. The 4GE will yes fit in the other models like
you stated up above. Cool great ......... buuuuuuttt I also pryed for the backplane speed of the SSMs. Turns out all the models are a single 1 gig backplane interface between the SSMs and the ASA chassis. Seems its a little oversubscribed ..... 4 to 1.

Interesting. However probably not such a huge deal since the firewall throughput of 5510, 20 and 40 doesn't go up to 1Gbps so perhaps not too surprising.
