I need to setup a syslog server for PIX w/ 6.2 and was hoping to get detailed instruction how to go about it. I would like exact syntax w/ an example on the pix and any configuration on the computer that will be receiving the log info.  I have downloaded tftpd32 onto computer (I could you another one if suggested).

Hi Ja,

Basic syslogging can be setup on the PIX following these steps:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/pix/pix62/command/reference/gl.html#wp1028090
logging on
logging host
logging trap , where is a number between 0 and 7 (0 being the least amount of logs, 7 being the most amount of logs)

As for the tftpd32 configuration, there's not much you need to do other than go into the Settings menu and make sure "Syslog Server" is checked. If you want to save the logs to a text file, you can check the "Save syslog messages" box as well and specify a filename. I've attached a screenshot of that for you.

Hope that helps.
