Hi all,

I am using ASA 5525-X with firepower module. I met 2 new concepts when I upgrade software to my sfr module, That are system image and boot image.

I would appreciate if someone can tell me what the difference between sfr system image and sfr boot image ?.

Thanks !

Hi,

You have to run the boot image on ASA , so that the SSD loads with the SFR image . System image is to run the SFR services on it .

Refer : http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/asa-firepower-services/118644-configure-firepower-00.html

The boot image is what you use when you have a blank sfr module with nothing on it.  You then use the boot image to install the system image.
