Transferring licences between firewalls

Is it possible to transfer firewall software from an existing 2105 platform to 3105?

Hi there! Can you please elaborate a bit more on what you are trying to accomplish? 

• The title asks about license transfer but the body mentions software transfer. 
• There isn't a 2105 appliance model 🙂

Hi,

You can migrate/ transfer  FTD licenses from 2100 series to 3100 series. Add 3100 to the same Virtual Account where your existing 2100 resides, transfer licenses from 2100 to 3100, while on the FMC deregister 2100 series and register 3100 series.

There are Threat, URL Filtering and Malware licenses specific to each model. Those are priced differently and not transferable across models.

Remote Access VPN (AnyConnect / Secure  Client) licenses are per end user and can be applied across different models.

The body of your question asked about transferring software. The software image is also unique per model and thus not transferable. The software configuration, however, can be migrated - either manually or using the model migration tool in FMC (on-premises or cloud-delivered). If you are using FDM local management, then there is no such tool
