Two Fresh IPS Module in Fresh ASA 5520 - Unresponsive after Power Up

Hi All,

Going nuts here.  I have an ASA 5520 with a factory config on it; Cold spare. Booted it up the other day because I am thinking about HA pairing, and the SSM-10 IPS module is unresponsive.  Connected the ethernet port, but still unresponsive. Tried all the usual hw-module module 1 commands to try and fix, and tried reseating the card - still no joy. Cannot session to it from an ASA console connection. Again, factory configs on both ASA and SSM-10. So I figured the SSM-10 card was bad.  Bought a refurbished one online and just inserted it. Exact same symptoms.

So either the ASA is bad or I am doing something wrong. Am I missing something to at least get this card to be reachable via session 1 from fresh installation into ASA?

Hello,

Did you put the module in ASA while the ASA was powered off. What syslogs are presented when the module is unresponsive or powered ON.

Can you try to reimage the Module using below document and see if that helps:
