Unable to RDP via Cisco VPN client

Employee has a laptop and connects to our secure wi-fi then rdp to his desktop PC with no issue.

Same employee takes same laptop home, pulls IP from home internet, launches Cisco VPN client, connects just fine.

He has a RDP shortcut to work desktop on his laptop, but can't connect.

He gets a message the Remote desktop can't connect to the Remote computer for one of these reasons:

1) Remote access to the server is not enabled

2) The remote computer is turned off

3) The remote computer is not available on the network

He can ping his desktop machine by IP just fine - 172.24.x.x.  As a test I can RDP to other PC's on the same network, different private IP (192.168.1.x)

Any ideas what would be the issue here?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hello,

So he cannot RDP just to that IP address when he goes over the RDP using the Cisco VPN client from his home,

Can you create a capture on the inside interface of the ASA

capture capin interface inside match tcp host outside_vpn_client_ip host local_pc_ip_address eq 3389

cap asp type asp-drop all circular-buffer

Then try to rdp and provide the capture

show cap capin

show cap asp | include outside_vpn_client_ip

When I mean outside_vpn_client_ip I mean the ip address from the local pool on the asa

Regards,

Julio
