I have configured Failover on PIX firewalls (515). I tested the failover with and without giving Failover IP address on PIX interfaces and it worked on both times(but found that with failover IP backup pix came up quickly).
Is their any specific technical reason as to why we haev to define Failover Ip address on every interface ?
Thanks ,

This failover address allows you to access the firewall via Telnet, SSH, etc. Without this statement you can only access the active firewall.
