I set up my I P with open DNS and it is till NOT blocking anything. I suspect it may be that my IP is not dynamic?

You must configure the OpenDNS IP addresses first, before you even can think about your own IP address.  And no, static IP addresses do not prevent you from anything.

If you have already configured the OpenDNS IP addresses, what does http://welcome.opendns.com/ return?

Also, what does "Alan" mean in the subject / topic of this thread?
