OpenDNS was recommended to me by a genius at the Apple store. My children are home alone 2-3 days a week during which time they need to do their schoolwork but are wasting time playing Minecraft and chatting on Discord. I want to allow them to play after they have finished their schoolwork, it looks like OpenDNS only allows me to either completely block it or completely allow it, which is not helpful. Other parents have recommended the Circle device, but then others say it is stupidly easy for students to get around it by simply unplugging it, so that is not a viable solution. Please help! Thanks.

Maybe create a schedule to switch between OpenDNS and another DNS service?

You can block minecraft specifically by blocking games and discord by blocking chat. You can't automatically block and unblock on a schedule, but you can manually add and remove these categories from your block list at certain times of day. And you can do it from anywhere; you can do it from your phone. Log in at www.opendns.com and go to your network dashboard.
