TWC/Spectrum DNS caching servers

Is anyone aware of TWC (TimeWarner Cable, now Spectrum) intercepting our DNS lookups and resolving them from their own server caches instead of let us proceed to OpendDNS or other DNS service?

My OpenDNS content filtering has broken because of this. If you are a TWC/Spectrum customer then do this simple test www.DNSLeakTest.com

It would tell you which DNS servers are being accessed. In my case they were not the OpenDNS server I had setup in my router configuration. It fixes it shortly when I reboot my modem or when I update the DNS info in the router. This fix stays for a day or two and then slides back to the TWC servers.

What are you doing to avoid this problem other than using a network VPN?

The fact that it works a few days and then stops working rather indicates that it is a problem with your router, not with your ISP.

"My OpenDNS content filtering has broken because of this."

Another reason could be that you don't keep your IP address information updated at https://dashboard.opendns.com/settings/ so that your settings do not take effect any longer.

If this problem occurs again, copy & paste the complete plain text outputs of the following diagnostic commands to here, so I may see what's going on:

nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com. 208.67.220.220
nslookup -type=txt which.opendns.com.
nslookup whoami.akamai.net.

You also may check if your ISP uses a proxy or a transparent caching server which may circumvent OpenDNS:

Yes, you said this already at https://support.opendns.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360012160246

But you're ignorant enough to not post the diagnostic results from above.
