Verizon Router Setup Help

I need some help setting up OpenDNS with the verizon router setup.  I tried following the 2 verizons they have on the website, but neither remotely matches.  I am not quite sure what I should be changing and where.  Will try to describe and perhaps someone can point me in a direction.

In Network Settings I have several options:  DNS Server (I think this is what I want??), Dynamic DNS, and then stuff for IPv4 and IPv6.

Assuming DNS Server, I open it and all it lists are all my devices, IP address and sources *DHCP and NDP

At the bottom it has this:

 Not sure what to do.

Thanks,

Hello,

According to Verizon use the following steps to configure your router:

  • Step 1 - Navigate to Advanced Settings
Click on the Advanced Tab (next to Basic) at the top, then click on Network Settings.

  • Step 2 - Modify Network Settings
On the new page, scroll down until you see "settings"

  • Step 3 - Update DNS Values
When you first click settings, scroll down until you see IPv4 DNS and switch to the "Use the Following IPv4 DNS Addresses".
Update IPv4 addresses and for OpenDNS enter in the addresses of 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220.

  • Step 4 - Hit Apply or Save

based on a search I also tried opening IPv4 Address Distribution and changed the start IP address and End IP address to OpenDNS numbers, but I get an error when I try to apply:

Thanks for this.  I had to call verizon and they helped out.  Their online documentation is incorrect.
