2511 asyncronous lines

we have for 4 3Com U.S. Robotics modems attached to our async lines, these are intended for our staff to dial in so that they could have access

to the internet.

but there's a problem with our USR modems, i guess it was not properly initialized. it would take 3 rings before it "handshakes". what is the proper

way of initializing the modem.
