Port Security and printer problems

Since we configured port security our printers are dropping out of the mac-address-table and getting lpr and snmp communications errors. A ping will bring it back online but only temporarily. Any ideas?

how do you have your port security configured, can you post the relevant configuration ? Also, which platform and IOS are you running ?

We have it on 6509s running native IOS and 3550s, both EMI and SMI.

Model number: WS-C3550-48-EMI

Version 12.1(20)EA1

WS-C6509 (R7000) processor

Version 12.1(26)E3

All have this setup:

interface FastEthernet0/2

switchport access vlan 2

switchport mode access

switchport port-security

switchport port-security aging time 2

switchport port-security violation restrict

spanning-tree portfast

Disabling the aging time has resolved the problem in most places, trying to determine the difference in a site that still had problems with it disabled.
