PPP Compression - Help?

IOS version 12.0 allows me to select from two types of compression for PPP. Predictor or Stac. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a description that tells me when or why would I favor one over the other. Can any one help?

Predictor - this is the memory intensive and does do compression. It only predict the coming data and make the codes for the repitative data. If you have to transmit the repeatative data then predictor is helpful.

Stacker : It is CPU intensive and compress the data 4:1 ratio and used the LZ algorithem.

Make sure, your data is not compressed at application level if you are enabling wan link compression
