Testing IGMP/CGMP.

If I set-up a test network of say a router and a few Catalysts and configure CGMP, how can I test it to ensure multicasting is correctly set-up? I want to ensure CGMP works but don't have any multicasting software.

Hope someone can enlighten me!

CGMP is predicated on the assumption that the router will be getting IGMP joins & leaves from hosts. So you are going to need some device that can generate this traffic - either a router with ip igmp join-group under the interface, or a host with IGMP in the IP stack & some mechanism to send a join, or a host with sniffer software & a sniffer trace of an IGMP join that you can replay in the network, or a traffic generator like IXIA or Smartbits.

I can't think of any other way to test this.
