traceroute output

Hi,

While putting traceroute for an ip , i am getting the follwoing ....

Type escape sequence to abort.

Tracing the route to x.x.x.x

1 x.x.x.x !A * !A

What is this !A means.?

Soma,

It'll do this when the destination you're trying to trace to has an ACL blocking ICMP. The "A" stand for an ICMP code "administratively-prohibited".

A Admin Denied (Access List)
