Many of you on the forum have been asking for signatures for viruses, and Cisco listened.
To deliver better virus signatures we are collaborating with a world leading anti-virus company Trend Micro Inc.
Trend Micro will begin delivering virus signatures for the current 4.1 sensors later this year (3rd calendar quarter).
Just wanted to pass on the news in case some of you had not seen.

Marcabal
This should be a very nice addition to the Sensors.
Just wondering, do you forsee the ability to turn off/on the AV signatures on a per-signature basis?
thanks

Yes I believe so.
I am not directly working on the integration so all I have is some third hand information.
I believe that yes you will be able to enable/disable, set actions (iplog, shun, reset), and also fitler the signatures.
But all of this is still in the design stages with details still being hammered out between the companies. We'll have to wait and see what happens in those discussions.
The target for first releases of signatures created by TrendMicro is 3rd calendar quarter this year. So we should be seeing something in the next few months.
