what's the difference bet. the ff:

stackable switch

cascade

trunk

link aggregation

in terms of physical connection, management and advantages/disadvantages

Hi,

I may be not 100% accurate.

Link Aggreation is usually can be between switches, or from switch to hosts. You are comining your ethernet/fastethernet etc. ports so an aggregate bandwith of say 100+100 MB is achieved. Usually you aggregate the trunk links

trunk links are links between two switches (usually) carring 1 or more vlan information. If the switches are not cascasded or stacked , then you are doing trunk

cascade is like this

switchA ---- SwitchB---SwitchC---SwitchA

bascially all switches are linked together

Stacking is like you are combining two or more switches together to form a single switch.
