Can I install CSA on running MS-Windows 2003 servers with latest SP patch up ?
Does it conflict with SP automatic update server such a SUS ?
Does CSA require behavior updates knowledge on their artificial intelligence DB engine?

Hi Nadeem
What is the product part number of CSA 4.5. Is it the last and current version, and is it available now?

4.0.3 is the latest version and is available for download from this site if you have CSA installed:
http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/tablebuild.pl/csa
4.0.3 provides support for Windows 2003 and should not require any changes to support XP SP2.
thanks

1 - Windows 2003 support will be delivered prior to 4.5 - targetted for end of July.
2 - The default policies will block connections other than normal Microsoft connections (135-139). So the SYS applicatoin will be blocked, but an expception for this is easily created using the Rule Tuning Wizard.
3 - No, CSA's behaviour blocking abilities does not require updates to stay current. However, as the developers find new ways to enhance the protection of the system or expand it's capabilities, the application itself is updated.
Hope this helps - let us know other questions you have.

Hi Peter
Thanx for prompt reply.
Tell me about the updates mechanism. Like, Does CSA need to update periodically by Download lates signatures or behavior DB from CISCO website same like other vendor products Symantec AV or McAfee AV etc.

CSA does not use signatures so no signature updates are required.
The product team does introduce new features over time, so the product itself may have a download from time to time.
Hope this helps,
peter
