We're using the csc-ssm on our asa 5510. One of it's options is of course file blocking. Enabling file blocking on exe's is currently a global option and there's no way to allow a machine/user that actually is approved to download exe's to get around it. It would be nice if file bocking was an option to configure in the User Group Policies section and allow certain machines/users to be allowed to download certain file types even though the global option to block any of the specified file types is configured.
Especially for us admins. I need to download updates that are in exe format, but I don't want to configure my machine to entirely by pass the csc as I want my traffic scanned. However, it's a pain to have to go in and configure file blocking each time we need to dowload something..
