I have client machines on the inside interface that get IP addresses from the PIX using DHCP.
If I turn one of the PCs off for about a week and then turn it back on, it can't communicate with the LAN or the Internet because it is not getting an IP address from the PIX running 6.0(1). Release and renew on the client does not work.
This has happened on a Win2k and a Win98 box.
If I power cycle the PIX, all is well.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I have not heard of this happening before. When the problem occurs again, you will need to turn on the following debugs on the PIX:
debug dhcpd event
debug dhcpd packet
capture the logs and then open a TAC case and provide the logs from the above debugs for us to determine what is happening.
Also, instead of rebooting the PIX, just try re-enabling dhcpd on the interface:
dhcpd enable inside
and see if the PC can't get an IP address then.
Sincerely,
David.

Thanks David, that is very good advice.
I will give that a try next time it happens.
