e-mail notification suddenly stops

Has anyone ever seen a situation where the email notification is working fine and then all of a sudden it stops? I have done everything excpept reboot the server to try and solve this. The CSPM box does have full connectivity to the SMTP gateway and the e-mail accounts still exists. I am using 2.3i

Did you check if you are able to reach the SMTP port 25 on the email server from the CSPM box. Check if you can do telnet x.x.x.x. 25 when it fails.

Try to restart the PO service in CSPM. May be it will help
