On a Secure IDS 4230 FE (Version 3.1(2)S28) we got multiple time a file system error in the /usr/nr/var directory. Even a simple fsck did not help, we had to exchange the superblock with a backup.
We installed a new hard disk and thought that this will fix the problem. But today sensor stopped because of a failure in /usr/nr/var:
Error for command 'read sector' Error Level: Informational
gda: [ID 107833 kern.notice] Sense Key: aborted command
gda: [ID 107833 kern.notice] Vendor 'Gen-ATA ' error code: 0x3
ufs_log: [ID 702911 kern.warning] WARNING: Error reading master
ufs_log: [ID 127457 kern.warning] WARNING: ufs log for /usr/nr/var changed state to Error
ufs_log: [ID 616219 kern.warning] WARNING: Please umount(1M) /usr/nr/var and run fsck(1M)
Any ideas ?

What type/model was the new hard drive you installed? Did you image it with the recovery CD, or by another means?

Sorry, I do not know the type and model, because it was bought by the colleques at customer site. It is a 20 GB IDE harddisk and we rebuild the sensor with the recovery CD. But the problem occured first with the original hard disk
