The only way to generate an IDS event is to use an IDS Sensor Appliance, IDS Module for the Cat 6K, or an IOS FireWall running IDS.
If this is just for a demo you could load old alarms from a log file, rather than receiving live events.
The difference is that when the event viewer is started you would select the option to load from a log file rather reading the alarms from the real time database.
If the old alarm logs are what you want then I could put something together, but I would need a method for sending them to you (i.e. an email address or anonymous ftp site).
