Hi,
I am getting alert on cisco ASA in our network from monitoring tool with below details
Metric Name: cisco.memory.pool.util.percent, Memory Pool Name: DP System memory, Severity: Critical, Cisco Memory Utilization: 96.3976 %, Memory Used: 3622715408 Bytes, Memory Free: 135380976 Bytes, Reason: Memory utilization of "DP System memory" pool is 96.3976 % (>= 90).
this is a virtual firewall with OS version mentioned below.
Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 9.15(1)1
SSP Operating System Version 2.9(1.131)
Since I checked already near about 70% memory is free on my device. Can someone please confirm, is this a cosmetic bug or anything else.
Thanks
Swapnil K

9.15 is OLD, suggest upgrading to the latest stable version, depending on the model of the ASA.
Is this service affected? If not, this is a cosmetic issue; an upgrade may fix this.

Hey Swapnil
What network monitoring tool are you using? Trying to understand where 'DP System Memory' is coming from, whether that's a term internal to the ASA operating system (i.e. is it shorthand for DMA Memory?), or whether that is something external to the ASA.
You should check your logging buffer to see if it is congested, if so you could offload some of that to off-box storage and change your log levels to reduce noise on-box.
Otherwise, I would check this bug out (CSCwc23844 : Bug Search Tool) as it may be affecting your release (in which case upgrading the version as @balaji.bandi recommended would be a good course of action).
Good luck!
