Hello,
After about two weeks the IEV stops recieving events from my ids4235, when the IEV server is rebooted events are shown again. This is re-occuring.
Is there anything obvious that could be causing this?
Any comments are greatly appreciated.

I meant to say that the IDS unit is rebooted (sorry!). It seems like something is happening on the IDS unit that causes it to stop sending alerts to the IEV.
Thanks

What is the IDS version? We have a known bug which cause the similar behavior in a dual processor machine doing IP logging.

Hi there,
The IDS is a 4235 version 4.1, not sure of the sig version (I am going to customer site tomorrow!).
If this is a bug and theres a fix to it then it would save me a lot of troubleshooting time!
Thanks

Hi,
The latest version posted on CCO is 4.1(3). It might help if you can install the latest one and see if the problem gets fixed. Next service pack 4.1(4) will be released at the end of next month or so which has quite a lot fixes.

Which version of IEV and sensor? Sensor version is also important for further investigation since if sensor stops generating alarms, IEV won't get any.
You said "when the IEV server is rebooted", do you mean the "Cisco IDS Event Viewer" service is restarted from windows' Services panel or something else?
Besides, how is the connection status of the device in IEV's Devices list before you restart the IEV service ( or so)?
Thanks,
Jie

Hello Jie,
I'm sorry, I meant to say that when the IDS unit itself is rebooted it re-commences the sending of events.
I will know tommorow what version both the IEV and the sensor are on; however, I am sure that both are synchronised with the same version.
Thanks
