Hi all.

Our company have just bought a 4FE QUAD for the PIX, the problem with this QUAD it´s that the PIX not recognize the QUAD, it sends the following message when it is booting

Ignoring PCI card in slot:3 (vendor:0x8086 deviceid:0xb154 revisionid:0x0)

and when I try in the next slot it sends

Ignoring PCI card in slot:2 (vendor:0x8086 deviceid:0xb154 revisionid:0x0)

I don´t know what can be the problem, this QUAD it´s the second one that I try. The version of the PIX it´s:

Cisco PIX Firewall Version 6.2(1)

Cisco PIX Device Manager Version 2.0(2)

Chances are, you are using the new 4 port card - PIX-4FE-66, which requires 6.2(2) and you are using 6.2(1). The original PIX-4FE was EOS more than 1 year ago, so if you bought the 4 port card recently, it is the newer card and upgrading your Pix code will help you. The error messages you shared with us strongly indicates this is the case.

Here's some info from the data sheet for the PIX-4FE-66:

Table 1  System Requirements

Operating system

Cisco PIX Security Appliance Software versions 5.2(9), 6.0(4), 6.1(4), 6.2(2), and 6.3(1) or later

Platforms

Cisco PIX 515/515E, 520, 525, and 535 Security Appliance

Thanks Peter, the version was the problem we upgrade the version to 6.3(3), and the PIX recognize the card right away.

Thx.
