Management Center for IDS Sensors and Security Monitor Update Issues.

I have updated my sensors but when I try and add them to the MCIDS, I get this message

"Object update failed. The sensor version 4.1(4) S94 is an unrecognized version. You may need to apply a signature update to the system for support of this sensor."

I have downloaded the service pack update; I have downloaded the current signature service packs and updates. I used the "Update" tab and followed the instructions, but nothing. I keep getting that error message.

Any help would be nice.

Thanks,

David

Have you uploaded the 4.1.(4) S91 first? It needs the service pack upgrade before it can do signature upgrades. After you upload that one, then you can upload the more recent signatures.

Which version is the most recent that it recognizes?

It sounds as though you updated the sensor, but not CiscoWorks VMS. CiscoWorks has to have the signature version that is on a sensor that you are trying to import.

Hope that helps.

you say "CiscoWorks has to have the signature version that is on a sensor that you are trying to import. "but ,how can i do to make sure it?

You can make sure by trying to add a sensor manually to the IDS MC. Do this by NOT checking the "Discover Settings" during the wizard. On the next screen, you will be given the a drop down list where you can look for the Signature Versions the IDS MC is currently familiar with.

Follow this link for examples of the screens I am referring to:
