NTP Question

Hi, I have a 6500 Catalyst with an NTP server configured

- ntp server <IP_ADDR_NTP_SRV>

if I give the command

- clock calendar-valid

does the Catalyst still use the NTP server for synchronizing the clock and calendar as long as there is connectivity with it?

In a network layout like:

NTP --> Cat6500 --> Other_Catalyst

is it better to synch the Other_Catalyst with the NTP allowing "ntp broadcast" on the Cat6500 or is it better to Synch the Other_Catalyst with the Cat6500?

The catalyst should still use the NTP server for synchronizing the clock.

I would think it is better to sync the other catalyst with the Cat6500.
