Query about (Protego)MARS 20 default Passwords

I have inherited a MARS 20 (physically it’s a Protego Networks MARS 20), that has a problem when restarting, during the boot-up process there is a problem with cross linking on one of the files.

As you may suspect that I have no data on the original setup of the device, I am hoping that the default passwords were not changed.

What I currently need is what called the “maintenance” password by the boot process, I have looked on the Cisco site and found nothing helpful

( I assume that the unit has not been upgraded since it was installed)

Unfortunately, Cisco is not giving out the root password of the MARS devices, which could be used to repair such issues. You could try booting the server off a Live linux CD and repairing the issue there..
