Hello everyone
I try to setup my backup PIX 515 ...
Last week i upgraded the machine to the latest firmware it literaly took HOURS to upload the file from my tftp (5h30 for the 2034k of pix634.bin....)
Now i'm stuck with the PDM upload... I always got an tftp timeout error from the PIX.
I have tried every speed from my local Network card and the PIX Network card. Best so far has been achieved using forced 10baseT on both cards using a brand New crossover cable.
But the max i succeded to transfer was 94% of the 3meg file :/
At least it's transferring very fast... oh well faster than the bios update but it won't ever work.
Just for example on auto or 100baseT I got an TFTP timeout in less than 2k transfered .... (just 3 !!! on the fw ...)
I start to wonder if my FW network card isn't damaged ?
Are there a way to reduce the speed of the card even more or to monitor the transfert better ?
Reading the notice i discover that the show interface could help so here is the result for the inside interface.
interface ethernet1 "inside" is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is i82559 ethernet, address is 0050.54ff.6e91
IP address 167.221.1.30, subnet mask 255.255.0.0

Received 14911 broadcasts, 0 runts, 0 giants
22 input errors, 21 CRC, 1 frame, 0 overrun, 21 ignored, 0 abort

0 babbles, 0 late collisions, 106 deferred
0 lost carrier, 0 no carrier
input queue (curr/max blocks): hardware (128/128) software (0/43)
any help would be apreciated ;)
For now i setup an tftp server on another machine...

check if changing the MTU value works as a work around

For example setting the MTU to less than 1500 on both end of the TFTP Connection ?
1200 for ex ?
