Have Cisco 1711 IOS releases been lost in space ?
There are only about 5 downloads of which PPTP does not connect and/or IPsec does not connect. We cannot provide customer with a working solution. Both work ok on 1710 (lots of downloads) but we have sold them 4 x 1711 and cannot get payment until its works.
Anyone got any suggestions ?

The 1711 is a relatively new router compared to the 1710, so there's very few releases available for it. At the moment only X-based special releases are there, the XE release will be rolled into the T train release sometime around May 2004 apparently.
Since these are the only available releases for you, we need to get one of these ones working. Can you send debug output of a failed connection? We'd need to see your config also so it may be a good idea to open a TAC case on this and get the TAC to hve a good look at it.

Hello Glenn,
Thanks for the response, here is the information you require regarding PPTP and IPSec problems. I have attached the details.
Please could you respond to martin@signature-networks.co.uk as Howard has asked me to deal with this.

For PPTP, do the following:
interface Virtual-Template1
no compress mppc
You can see that compression is not negotiated in the debug and the connection is dropped:
Jan 31 15:34:10.202: Vi6 CCP: Compression not negotiated
Jan 31 15:34:10.202: Vi6 CCP: Decompression not negotiated
Jan 31 15:34:10.202: Vi6 CCP: Negotiation mismatch, closing CCP
As for the IPSec connection, if it works with one particular version and not another, then it'll be a software bug in that particular version, not much we cna do about it other than use another version that has the fix in it. Not sure what the bug is and the TAC is probably the best place to figure that out for you.
Hope that helps.
