Will the 4235 be big enough?

I have a flat network with 225 nodes, getting ready to buy host and network IDS. Will a 4235 be big enough for a FE with Gig backbone? Is there some kind of measure I can go by? Will it only look at a certain percentage...?

We are looking at VLANS in the future with a 4235 on each or using the Cat 6000 IDS module

A couple of questions that will help for us to answer this.

1. What is the avereage BW utilization on the network?

2. If possible can you also specify what the new connections per second rate might be?

3. What is the breakdown of traffic on the network? ie 70% HTTP, 10% SMTP, etc.

Ballpark is all I need on these numbers.
