I just opened a brand new RV340. Upgraded it to the latest firmware (1.0.03.21) and made really no other changes other than getting a PC on the internet. I am trying to SSH into the router but I am getting a "Server refused to allocate pty" while using Putty. SecureCRT doesn't even show me any erorrs, just fails to connect. It looked like a few years back people were recommending to download the config file and "enable" ssh, but on this router I am seeing it is already enabled and on port 830 by default, hence why I am able to establish a connection anyway. Anyone have recommendations on what setting I might be missing that my connection is being refused after entering a correct username/password? Thanks. Jason

Hi
On RV34X routers:
- ssh (tcp-port 22) access is DISABLED/NOT-AVAILABLE.
- CLI/console access is NOT AVAILABLE/NOT-ENABLED
- ONLY http/https to access GUI is available. So ALL configs/status has to be done using GUI ONLY
- the ssh (tcp-port 830) that you see is for NETCONF...so you can apply config to the router using NETCONF
so dont waste your time/energy in trying to access using ssh or the cli/console...its NOT ENABLED
