WRVS4400N - can't access configuration page, DHCP problems

Hi,

I've configured router and its working, but very strange: I can't open configuration page neither by internal address (http://192.168.1.1) nor external, DHCP server assigns IP address only once, if I disconnecting computer, gain address again is possible only after reboot.

Firmare is a last.

How to fix that, if it possible?

Hey Yevgeny,

Are you able to ping the routers ip address of 192.168.1.1?

If so, what browser are you using?

Have you tried to clear browser history, or tried from another pc?

Hi,

I can ping 192.168.1.1, I use IE8, had tried to access from different computer with same negative result.

Any other ideas?

Did you by chance enable the router management access list on the Administration/Management tab.  If so, you would only allow administration to the router from the ip address setup.

Other than that, all I can suggest is resetting the router and getting into the GUI.

I've tried to do that, but:

If client computer is unable to recieve IP addres then I'll not have a chance to reach it...

And I have reseted router several times - I can access Management GUI for a short time just after reset, but after the 30 min Management GUI is not reachable

Let's start with the simple basics to make things work.

1. Is your PC set to use DHCP or do you have an IP address statically assigned?

2. Are you receiving a DHCP address from the WRVS4400N ?

3. Was the WRVS4400N previously configured by another user? If yes, I would recommend setting it back to the defaults IAW the user manual.

4. Can you ping the WRVS4400n on the management interface after your web browser can no longer access the device?

5. Do you have a green link light on the router port assigned to the PC in use when your unable to access the management interface?

6. I assume you have IPV4 enabled and not IPV6.

7. Isolate your issue by ensuring the only device connected is your PC and the router.

8. Is your firmware current?

9. Are you using compatibility mode with IE8? If yes, which zone do you have the 192.168.1.1 address assigned to?
