1841 Hwic-2T is not detecting when PASSWORD RESET

hi,

i have a cisco 1841 router. it has add-on card Hwic-2T. i tried to login using console connection but i wasn't. i forgot the con password.

reseted the router password using Ctrl+Break from that the time HWIC-2T is not showing in router while trying with "" sh ip int brief "

when i was trying using  " show diag " it is showing HWIC Daughter is not supported. i was replaced with new hwic same problem.

This is happened with cisco 1761 router also.  i reseted the con password the serial port not showing in "" sh ip int brief "" is there any IOS upgrade to do.

i need an expert help.

Doing a ROMMON password record using the ctrl-brk wont stop an hwic from working.  Something else must have also changed.

Does the flash by chance have a second IOS image in it, and the BOOT variable got reset, and it has gone back to booting the first "older" IOS?
