BGP AS-Prepend Limit?

Hi,

ist this a normal behaviour or is it possible to override this limitation of 10 prepends:

BGP-Router(config-route-map)#set as-path prepend XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
% Cannot have more than 10 as-paths prepended

 My router is a 7206VXR (NPE-G2) IOS c7200p-spservicesk9-mz.122-33.SRE14

I just tested this on a modern platform with considerably newer software and got the same issue.

So yes, it seems normal that you are limited to 10 as-path prepends.

Thanks for that comparison Philip. May be that is the right to exist for the command "bgp maxas-limit"  🙂
