Dear All

Here is  a question. Please see diagram in attachment. Router 1 is connected to Router 2 with two connections. MPLS is primary connection and DSL VPN internet is backup connection for the primary connection. My purpose is that DSL VPN will be used only if the primary connection is down. My question, Can I use floating static route to do it ? Thank you.

Hi,

If you are using static routes between these sites than yes, you can use 2 floating static routes, one with a default admin distance using the MPLS link and one with higher admin distance using the DSL link.

Thank you so much! That is what I want to confirm.

i have similar question

1st.  Earlier we were having only one MPLS link. but due to fluctuation problem we have taken another MPLS link .

i have configured hsrp for load balancing .

if load balancing can be configured through static floating route so what is benifit of hsrp.

2nd. question is related to MPLS when traffic will switch to 2nd ISP so on another side also same ISP link is required ?

like both side airtel MPLS is required or data can be received from tata mpls because it is up in 2nd loacation.

3rd question if MPLS link works on licensed frequency then how can interference can come in link
