Cisco 2911 Web Gui

Hello all, just acquired a Cisco 2911K from work. Just spent the last day or so learning how to factory reset it, barely assign IP's to the 3 ports. Most times I have to reset it and start over from scratch.

My main question is, setting this up for web gui access. I can enable ip http server, then the service starts and I can access it via local 192.168.1.102, but I only get a page indicating Cisco Config Pro Express.

I'm new to the Cisco router world, but quite up to speed on private networks.

This suppose to be easier for you to setup the router.

Hello,

the problem is that the 2911 is end of life/end of sale/end of support, so you are stuck with the software you currently have installed. The previous owner probably has CCP Express installed (if you do a 'dir flash' you should see the CCP file there).

What exactly are you trying to configure, what is this router used for ?

I don't see it anywhere in the system.

I'm not exactly trying to configure anything for long term. I'm simply exploring/learning about these routers. Originally I was under the impression these were good firewalls, but I read somewhere the 2911's don't make good firewalls. Which is fine, because I'm running pfsense on a Proliant server.

If it gives you any clue as to what this was originally used for back at the office, the expansion cards installed are:

HWIC-4T/E1

VIC3 4FXS/DID

VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1

Anyhoo, I thank everyone for your time.

Hello,

the 2911 could be a good firewall, it all depends on the license and the software it has. You can post the output of:

sh ver

sh lic

That would tell you what the software is capable of. A lot of things (like a Zone Based Firewall) can be good security solutions/features.

No one uses GUI to configure Cisco routers and switches.
If you really need this "feature" then you're learning the wrong manufacturer.  Other manufacturer may offer GUI but Cisco has always-been CLI.

Another option is SD-WAN because everything in there is GUI.

Thank you Leo, my apologies for being corrupted by easy setup pages. I may have misinterpreted the term webgui during my research of setting this up.

George, next time I fire this up, I'll post the output as you requested. Thank you all again.
