Hi,

I'm trying to configure a second E1 in our 2851 router.

I receive following error

router(config-controller)#pri-group timeslots 1-31 service mgcp

% Not enough DSP resources available to configure pri-group on controller E1 0/1

/0

% The remaining dsp resources are enough for 18 time slots.

% For current codec complexity, 1 extra dsp(s) are required to create this voice

port.

Someone more familiar with this error?

thanks

J

What codec complexity are you using: medium or flex? how many DSPs do you have? use the command "show voice dsp" to see this information.

Hi,

It is my first time i need to configure an E1 to work with our Cisco Callmanager. It is the 2nd Channelized E1 in the 2851 router.

It is plugged into slot 1. The card type is VWIC-1MFT-E1

I also receive an alarm "receiver is getting AIS" Contacted our provider to see what framing they are using.

I include an text file with the sh voice dsp command. Where i believe, only the first card is displayed

Thanks

J.

Hi,I'll need to see the commands "show diag" and "sh run".

HI,

Hi,

Just reset my voice gateway again, and now cisco callmanager "adjusted" the config of our voice gateway.

Seems everything is configured, still need to test it.

I notice that the callmanager added pri-group timeslots 1-18? Why can't we assign 31 timeslots?

Thanks

J.

Hie,

Apart from these PRIs have you configured any transcoding or MTP using DSP resources. After resetting the router it took 18 channels because the DSP resources you left are sufficient only for 18 channels. You can use DSP calculator from the follwong link to calculate exact DSP requirement for your router
