Hello,
Is there anyone who is familiar with "DHCP Option 82" in DSL Subscribers ?
More and more of our customers wish static ip address in their DSL Connection. So instead to give them static ip address trough PPPoE, I was thinking about "static ip address assigment" without using the PPPoE encapsulations.
So for example, we give one user the ip address and gateway :
10.10.10.5
255.255.255.0
10.10.10.1
and now we will that this user can ONLY use the address vi give him, once he try to use another one than he should not be able to connect to the internet(network).
Than if this user wish more than 1 static ip address, than we can just route for example .252 subnet or more... to his primary static ip address.
This scenario looks most normal for me, so therfore I am asking is there someone who did it on the Cisco BRAS router which is connected to IP DSLAM at the PSTN.
I hope someone can help, and give me some configuration sample if possible.
Best regards

Using IP ACL with Port Security can bind IP address , Mac address and the port number together thereby mapping Mac to IP address.
