DMVPN

Hello Cisco,

DMVPN is not a cisco propreitary.? From my understanding it is but i have recieved views from others saying it is not. Can you please clarify my doubt.?

Other vendor use protocol same as dmvpn but no totally dmvpn

Thank you for the response.

In some way, both opinions are correct. DMVPN combines the three standard protocols IPSec, GRE and NHRP in a specific way. Although the three components are all established standards, the resulting DMVPN is not a standard. Every vendor could combine these protocol the same way, but for me the result is still a proprietary protocol.
