Extranet MPLS VPN basic question

Hi,

Imagine CompanyA acquired CompanyB. Same ISP for both companies.

Now CompanyA wants to access network from CompanyB (one-way access).

For this MPLS VPN Extranet scenario, do you know any good document explaining which parameters service provider is supposed to adjust in order to make this access possible? I believe that RD and RT Import should be changed on PE routers but I want to read more about it.

Hello Marlon,

only additional route targets commands have to be added, RD do not play a role in building an extranet.

route targets are used to decide if a VPNv4 route has to be imported in one specific VRF. RD are used to solve overlapping issues and to create the VPNv4 prefixes.

you can refer to

Hope to help
