Hello Experts

Can we loadbalance Two Internet link terminating on a single cisco router or do we need a loadbalancer like F5 Link Controller.

Thanks

Cisco Kid

Hi,

If you can go for F5, you should. If you can't,please check out this link,http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk648/tk361/technologies_configuration_example09186a0080950834.shtml

HTH,

Toshi

Toshi thank for the hyper link. F5 is expensive compare to cisco

can we pass http traffic on link#1 and VPN Traffic on Link#2. If one of the link fails all traffic should be routed through the other link and as the link is up again all traffic should float as initially set

Thanks

Cisco Kid

Hi,

    Yes you can.

You may use static routes with different AD and IP SLA to accomplish those tasks.  Site-To-Site VPN?

You may use policy based-routing to controll data plane as well.

HTH,

Toshi

Nice to hear its possible.

Plz share Hyper Link of sample config with similar requirement or close to it,  i was unlucky in finding on cisco site

Thanks

Cisco Kid

Cisco Kid,

You may try to search it from this forum. But you need to know how it works. Just write it down. Try to find/list features you want to accomplish those tasks. And then test and verify.

HTH,

Toshi

Hi there,

This is a tricky question and I think we need to know a bit more about your setup. Let me split this up into two separate questions.

1) is link one and link 2 with the same ISP or different?

2) Do you use BGP to advertise an block to the ISP or do you use addresses provided by the ISP/'s ?

Thanks,

Jesse
