IOS upgrade on ISR 4321 - defaulting to same IOS

Hello,

I'm having some trouble upgrading the IOS on a cisco 4321 ISR.

I can see my New IOS in the directory and I have verified the IOS. (verify x)

the conf reg is 0x2102 and my boot system flash points to the new IOS. (Boot System Flash: xxx)

however after reboot it doesn't pick up the new IOS. It remains on the current IOS which I am trying to upgrade.

The images are stored on the flash (within the same path)

im doing this remotely so I do not have console access

I suppose one of my options is to delete the existing IOS and reboot? if it is an option I think its a bit risky

please can someone help me! my change window is almost up

thanks guys

Tricky...the only thing I can think of is that there is a typo in what you have configured in your boot statement. Make sure it matches exactly what is in your flash...including small and large caps, punctuation, etc...

Thanks gpauwen,

back in the office now after an embarrassing failed change. I checked, rechecked and then rechecked again for typos - I'm 100% sure its not a typo.

going to do some digging now.

Odd indeed, and quite annoying I can imagine. I am trying to find what else could be the reason as well...

Cheers GP

Here's some output - just information based stuff...

x Gigabit Ethernet interfaces
32768K bytes of non-volatile configuration memory.
4194304K bytes of physical memory.
3223551K bytes of flash memory at bootflash:.

Configuration register is 0x2102

use the following boot statement:

boot systen bootflash:/isr4300...

almost...

boot system flash bootflash:/isr4300....

this is what worked for me

Hold on.  The "verify" command is not correct.

The correct command to compare the MD5 hash value is:  verify /md5 isr4300-bootflash:/universalk9.03.13.06.S.154-3.S6-ext.SPA.bin 41d5b39070c27c0494864de4611fe0d8

Another thing, if you want us to help, DO NOT EDIT THE OUTPUT of the command.  There is nothing "secret" about the output of an MD5 Checksum.  :P
