Hi,
Does anyone know if Cisco has plans to support RFC3623 (Graceful OSPF Restart) ?
Cheers,
Paresh.

Hello Paresh,
I read the RFC, but I cannot really figure out if the RFC refers to OSPF Nonstop Forwarding (NSF) Awareness, a feature that is supported by Cisco since IOS 12.15(T).
Check the link below for an explanation of how NSF is implemented, is that what you are looking for ?

There are actually two different sets of RFCs in this area, the graceful restart RFC, and then this set:
draft-ietf-ospf-oob-resync
draft-ietf-ospf-lls
draft-ietf-ospf-restart
(which are all expired at the moment, but we should be issuing new versions at some point, I would think)
They are completely different systems, with completely different technical characteristics. Cisco already supports the three drafts mentioned above, and is working on support for the Moy standard.

Thanks Russ,
I guess what led me to ask is that I did not see Cisco listed in the latest implementation report for OSPF GR.
Thanks for clarifying this, anyway.
Paresh.
