ospf ecmp

Hi,

  Why ospf does not do ecmp between areas? Any reason? And is it true for all types of routes?

Hello,

in theory, "multiple paths are installed for both internal and external routes that are learned in the same autonomous system and that have an equal cost."

So within the same AS (regardless of areas, and provided the maximum-paths are configured correctly), ECMP should happen. What do you have configured ?

Hi...ospf does not do load balancing across multiple areas. I have not
configured anything, I read this sometime. Just curious, what was the
reason for not doing ecmp across areas?
