Hi,
Is it ok if you see an increment on the pause input counter? Does it affect packet delivery from one site to another?
Here's what i got from previous discussions.
An increment in pause input counter means that the connected device requests for a traffic pause when its receive buffer is almost full. Common Causes: This counter is incremented for informational purposes, since the switch accepts the frame. The pause packets stop when the connected device is able to receive the traffic.
Description: The number of times the receiver hardware was unable to hand received data to a hardware buffer.Common Cause: The input rate of traffic exceeded the ability of the receiver to handle the data.
Common Causes: This includes runts, giants, no buffer, CRC, frame, overrun, and ignored counts. Other input-related errors can also cause the input errors count to be increased, and some datagrams can have more than one error. Therefore, this sum cannot balance with the sum of enumerated input error counts

Pause frame will impact packet delivery, if they are generated and the other side "honors" them (i.e. actually pauses). Impact might be less adverse if the alternative is lost of frames. (NB: enhanced Ethernet supports different classes that can be paused independently.)
I'm unsure whether an incrementing counter just counts any received pause frames, or whether the receiver also has to honor them.
