I have a few questions about PTP ( IEEE 1588/2008) behaviour:
I want to separate PTP networks using VLANs, and use a transparent switch.
The transparent switch sends packets over vlans? or it keeps them inside a vlan ? I mean if I make a few vlans do PTP packets go from one vlan to another?
What is the PTP precision ?
What happens with PTP packets if PTP is disabled? they are being treated like normal multicast mac traffic ? or discarded.
